Maija Raanti Brings Pharma Experience to Medaffcon’s Market Access

Maija Raanti, who joined Medaffcon in May, has 14 years of experience in pharmaceutical companies.

Maija Raanti joined Medaffcon’s Market Access team in May as Senior Market Access Manager, bringing experience from Pfizer and Eli Lilly.

“Maija brings valuable expertise to our team, specifically from the client perspective. She has an exceptionally long track record in market access roles within pharmaceutical companies. As a result, she has a deep understanding of clients’ processes and needs in both Finland and across the Nordics,” says Simo Jääskeläinen, Medaffcon’s Market Access Lead.

According to Jääskeläinen, Raanti is a versatile market access professional with strong command of health economic modelling and related methodology, as well as the price and reimbursement application process. In addition, she is also familiar with assessment processes for hospital medicines.

Strong Interest in Internships

Medaffcon is a popular internship choice for students in the field and plays an important role in training new experts for health-sector research and advisory services.

“We receive a high number of internship applications on an ongoing basis. We want to offer students opportunities to learn,” Jääskeläinen says.

In April and May, the Market Access team’s intern was Aleksi Kössi, a health economics student at the University of Eastern Finland. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering and has previously worked at a consulting company in the energy sector.

“Aleksi has excellent capabilities for consulting work,” Jääskeläinen says.
