Medaffcon’s experts work seamlessly across borders through a Nordic network of specialists
Medaffcon operates actively in Denmark and Norway, even though our physical offices are in Finland and Sweden. In Denmark and Norway, a regional expert network complements our operations in place of a country-specific office.
What does it mean that Medaffcon is a Nordic company?
Our services are designed for the Nordic market—Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. We support our clients through research, analyses, and market insights covering these countries.
Our scientific work builds on Nordic health registry data and long-term partnerships across the region. For example, we conduct Real-World Evidence (RWE) projects by utilising datasets from multiple Nordic countries.
Where are Medaffcon’s offices located, and how are projects delivered in countries such as Denmark?
Medaffcon has two physical offices: in Espoo, Finland, and in Stockholm, Sweden. Our ability to serve clients is not defined by the number of offices but by our broad Nordic capabilities. A Nordic presence does not require an office in every country.
Our networks and ways of working span national borders. Our teams collaborate closely with clients in all Nordic markets. Denmark is an essential part of our operational landscape, and we serve the Danish market from Finland and Sweden together with local experts and research organisations.
In which countries does Medaffcon currently have ongoing projects?
We currently have ongoing projects in Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, including Medical Affairs expert assignments. Across our projects, our specialists combine expertise in medicine, health economics, and data science to generate research and analyses on the real-world effectiveness of pharmaceuticals.
Why are the Nordic countries a key focus area for Medaffcon?
The Nordic countries offer exceptional health registries and research infrastructure by international standards. Data from different countries can be combined to form broader datasets that support more robust research.
Pharmaceutical companies increasingly operate in the Nordics as an integrated region—where research, data analysis, and market access strategies extend across several markets simultaneously. This regional model enables more efficient use of data, larger research populations, and faster responses to our clients’ needs.
Why is the Nordic region a particularly attractive research environment?
Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway have a combined population of 27.6 million. The region is a strong research environment thanks to similar healthcare systems and access to systematically collected national registry data. Consequently, findings from one country often translate well to others.
When data from multiple Nordic countries is combined, research results become broader and more generalisable across the region. We leverage this environment by offering a Nordic research approach: when needed, we design studies to cover several countries from the outset—removing the need for separate research projects in each market.
